moldova

Close to the Rumanian border, in the small town of Cornesti with its 12 000 inhabitants, a young missionary manages a small but well-functioning social work.

On a daily bases 24 poor children get at least one hot meal. Nine of the children, five boys and four girls are lodged in very simple dwellings on the premises. The rest live elsewhere. The Scandinavian Children’s Mission will initially support the existing work.

In the long run there are plans to extend and further develop the work.

Human trade

Moldova is one of the poorest countries in Europe. The problems with trafficking, human trade,  are extensive.

Children and women are taken against their will or are lured away by promises of better prospects in another country.

They are used under slave-like conditions, in prostitution and other exploitation. The needs are vast and the potential for development is great.

With small means we can do substantial work and help a lot of needy people.

SCM will make a difference!
